Getting to know Fluent

An introduction to Fluent — the modern operating system for interpreter services.

2 min read Updated April 2, 2026

What is Fluent?

Fluent is a platform built specifically for interpreter service providers. It brings scheduling, interpreter management, reporting, and (soon) billing and compliance into one system — replacing the patchwork of spreadsheets, calendars, and manual coordination that most agencies run on today.

Who is Fluent for?

Fluent serves three types of users:

  • Language Service Providers (LSPs) — Agencies that coordinate interpreter services across multiple clients
  • Interpreters — Independent contractors or staff who provide interpretation services
  • Organizations — Healthcare facilities, schools, courts, and other entities that need language access services

Getting started

If you’re new to Fluent, here’s what we recommend:

  1. Get started as an LSP — Teams, interpreters, customers, and your first appointment
  2. Add your team and interpreters — Invite your scheduling team and add interpreter profiles
  3. Create your first appointment — Walk through the appointment creation and interpreter assignment flow
  4. Explore notifications — See how confirmation requests and reminders work
